The KNIA KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was called into action three times yesterday. Shortly after 1 yesterday afternoon, a round of severe thunderstorms moved through, catching the far southeast corner of Marion County, bringing heavy rain, wind and dangerous lightning. Again, at about 11 last night, another round moved through, and a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the far northern parts of Marion County, with more heavy rain and wind. And overnight, more storms passed through, and the National Weather Service issued a third Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Marion County, at approximately 1:15am this morning. Reports were called in from around the county, including from Pella, Bussey, Melcher-Dallas and Attica. KNIA KRLS Staff reported live from the station in Knoxville, keeping in contact with meteorologists at the National Weather Service. Knoxville received 61 hundreths of an inch of rain, and Pella received 4 tenths.
