The Iowa Legislature passed a bill during the 2014 session, that will provide for the rebate of state sales and use tax of up to $2 million for the raceway renovation project. At 11:30 Tuesday morning, Governor Terry Branstad was at Knoxville Raceway to sign the bill into law. The Marion County Fair Board was on hand, as well as General Manager and Promoter Brian Stickel; race drivers Brian Brown and Jamie Ball; and Representative Greg Heartsill and State Senator Amy Sinclair.
