A local surgeon has been elected to the Iowa Board of Medicine. Dr. Michael Thompson at Pella Regional Health Center has been elected as Vice Chair of the Iowa Board of Medicine. He has served as Secretary since 2012. The Iowa Board of Medicine licenses and monitors physicians and acupuncturists and establishes peer review committees.
