A bike ride across the state is raising funds for a local non-profit. The AFRAID ride starts at 5 a.m. Saturday on Iowa’s southern border, then cyclists will travel 264 miles until they reach the Iowa/Minnesota border at 9:30 p.m. The event benefits Bethany Christian Services of South Central Iowa here in Pella. They will make stops in towns across eastern Iowa, holding fundraisers and drawings before heading to the next town. Leah Garland with Bethany Christian says the donations directly support families dealing with unplanned pregnancies. Click here for registration information and stops on ride.
