The Knoxville Education Foundation held a reception for a record 27 retiring Knoxville School District faculty and staff earlier this week. David Hoke, with the Foundation, says they recognize retirees each year, and the Foundation plays an important role in the Knoxville Community School District through fundraising activities. He says each fall, the Foundation contributes $1000 to each school, that can go toward items that school budgets don’t allow for. The Foundation also introduced the Dollars for Scholars program in Knoxville, Hoke says, 11 years ago.
