Wells Fargo & Company, one of the nation’s largest supplies of volunteers to Habitat for Humanity, on Wednesday presented a grant in the amount of $15,000 to support a Habitat for Humanity build in Knoxville. In addition, Wells Fargo team members are volunteering to help build the new home at 310 W. Main St.
“Wells Fargo has supported Habitat’s affordable housing work for 20 years, which is one example of our
focus on doing what’s right for our communities,” said Kimberly Jackson, executive director of the Wells
Fargo Housing Foundation. “Together with Habitat for Humanity we are creating affordable housing
opportunities for low-income families who now have homes in which they can take great pride – a
mission that Wells Fargo has always believed is important.”
“It’s rewarding for our Wells Fargo team to work with Habitat for Humanity of Marion County and
further the dream of home ownership for deserving families,” said Dameon Larson, assistant vice
president and manager for Wells Fargo’s Knoxville store. “Working together, we can create safe, decent
housing; increase the number of homeowners in Knoxville; and strengthen our community.”
Made possible in-part by funding provided through the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation and team
member volunteerism, Wells Fargo is participating in several such efforts across the country this year.
Wells Fargo Housing Foundation supports local neighborhood revitalization initiatives, with local
nonprofits such as Habitat for Humanity of Marion County, to construct, repair and rehabilitate
affordable housing with low-income families in deeply affected by foreclosures.
