The Corps of Engineers at Lake Red Rock says there will be a minor and temporary disruption for public use in the North Tailwater Area. The work involves pre-construction subsurface exploration for the Red Rock Hydropower Project. The exploratory borings will start Monday and is expected to continue until June 6. Locations affected in North Tailwater include the rip-rapped bank immediately downstream from the dam stilling basin and the paved trail that parallels the stilling basin wall and leads to the control structure. Work is not anticipated to occur on Memorial Day weekend. While boring operations are ongoing the work sites will be fenced off and warning signs will be posted.
