Seventh graders at Pella Middle School raised more than $6000 to benefit charities this academic year. Tuesday, the 7th Graders in Dana Sadler’s and Kristen Schultz’s classes held their “Concession Stand Profits Assembly” in the Pella Middle School gym. The students opened their own concession stand during school athletic events this winter season. Schultz says projects like these for students take a lot of planning and effort from the staff in the building. Students met with a banker and secured a loan. Students set prices, decided on products, and managed the stand themselves. The group raised more than $6000 to benefit global, national, and local charities, including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Make a Wish, Habitat for Humanity, Crossroads of Pella, Many Hands for Haiti, and The Raining Season. We’ll have more from the students behind the projects on Let’s Talk Pella next week.
