The Pella Fire Department held live fire simulator training this weekend. Fire departments from Pella, Knoxville, Sully, Fremont, and Oskaloosa all participated in the simulator Saturday and Sunday morning. The firefighters put out fires inside the State Fire Service Training Bureau’s Interior Fire Attack Simulator. Temperatures inside reached nearly 1000 degrees. Pella Fire Training Officer Jeremy Scott says it’s important to keep firefighting skills sharp because there are not a lot of fires in the area.
