Central College will host the 2014 General Synod of the Reformed Church in America. The annual synod provides a forum for denominational leaders to discuss and set direction for the church. This year, several joint sessions will be held with the synod of the Christian Reformed Church in North America, or CRC, which is also conducting its synod meeting at Central. Central College President Mark Putnam will join leaders of other RCA- and CRC-affiliated colleges to discuss issues in higher education. Central previously hosted the general synod in 2001, 2006, 2007 and 2013.
