Pella native Ethan Van Kooten and Central student Derek Miner will be spending their summer outdoors through two unique internship programs. Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, or INHF, selected Van Kooten and three other students from Iowa colleges as land stewardship interns in the blufflands region of Iowa. They selected Miner for the statewide land stewardship program. INHF looks for students who possess a passion for conservation and a desire to learn hands-on techniques. Van Kooten is a graduate of Pella Christian High School. He studies Environmental Studies at Central College and Miner studies Biology and they both expect to graduate in May 2015.
