Tonight starts a big weekend for both the Knoxville Raceway and the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum. The Raceway will have three nights of racing consisting of either two wheel or four wheel. Tonight and Sunday will be motorcycles with vintage races tonight and the A-M-A Flat Track Grand Nationals on Sunday. In between is the only stop for the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars before the Knoxville Nationals. The Hall of Fame figures into this weekend because they will unveil this year’s Salute to Champions Series which just happens to be 12 time Nationals Winner Steve Kinser. Hall of Fame Director Bob Baker tells KNIA/KRLS Sports seven cars that Kinser drove will be on display including the car he won the 1980 Knoxville Nationals in and a car he drove in 1978. The exhibition follows similar ones honoring Tony Stewart in 2011, Jeff Gordon in 2012, and Mario Andretti in 2013.
