Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt says the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshals, and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation partnered to conduct a residence verification operation for registered sex offenders throughout Marion County recently. Three 2 member Teams checked the addresses of all 49 registered sex offenders in the Cities and County. No offenders were found to be non-compliant. Sheriff Sandholdt stated, “We keep very close tabs on those Offenders that have committed these crimes. The Marion County Deputies and Jail Administrator are constantly making contact with these individuals to ensure that they are following all of requirements of being a registered sex offender. Nothing infuriates me more than crimes like these against our children and I will put the full resources of my Office towards holding these Offenders responsible for their actions.”
