The Marion County Extension and Marion County Development Commission are joining together to sponsor the annual Marion County Photo Contest, and the deadline for submissions has been extended. Karen Ackley, Ag and Horticulture Assistant with the Extension Office, says the deadline was previously June 16, but that has been extended to June 23, this coming Monday, at noon. The contest is open to all amateur photographers, and each person can submit up to 10 photographs. The photos can be all in one category, or can be split among several categories. The Best in Show for 2013 was taken by Carol Rowland, of Pleasantville, titled “Rise-n-Shine Iowa.”
