A ribbon cutting at Young’s Park Miracle Playground in Knoxville drew a crowd of about 50 people recently. Ernie Smith, with the Knoxville Morning Kiwanis says three years ago, Kiwanis committed to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, to see if there was a way to improve the property, owned by the city since 1972. Smith says it’s about halfway complete, and there is a lot of room left for more improvement, which could include a shelter house, or a ball park. The playground is accessible for handicapped children from ages 2 to 12, and includes a swing set and a sand table for the kids to enjoy.
