Traffic was blocked off in the 400 block of Columbus Street in Pella today after a gas line was hit. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Pella Police, Pella Fire, and Pella Ambulance all responded to the scene a little before noon. Alliant Energy responded and shut off the gas line. The line was hit in the back yard of a home where digging was going on. No injuries were reported and the all-clear was given at approximately 12:15 p.m.
