Water inflow at Lake Red Rock is projected to be at it’s this week. Natural Resources Specialist Hugh Howe with the Army Corps of Engineers says flooding upstream at Saylorville and at area tributaries is causing the high water flows. He says that the inflows of over 20000 cubic feet per second will mostly impact boaters and kayakers. He says to watch out for hidden debris and for stronger currents when on the water. He recommends always wearing a life jacket, especially in situations like these. Howe says the flooding is minor at Lake Red Rock, but that they are monitoring the situation closely with more rain in the forecast across the state later this week. The latest forecast has water levels rising approximately four feet by 4th of July weekend to 749 feet.
