The Marion County Sportsman’s Club, Marion County Conservation Board, Iowa DNR, and the Marion County Recorder’s office are sponsoring a Hunter Education Course this Thursday and Saturday, at the Marion County Sportsman’s Club Facility east of Knoxville. State Conservation Officer Ken Kenyon says the course is required for everyone 16 and older before they can purchase a small game license. He says the classes are available to anyone born after January 1, 1972, if they need it as well. Kenyon says the classes provide receive training in hunter safety and ethics, at no charge. He says the incidents of hunter-involved accidents have decreased substantially since the class came into existence.

When, Where?
June 26 and 28, 2014 to be held at the M. C. Sportsman’s Club facility, 1702 Old Hwy 92, east of Knoxville.

The class, required of all Iowa hunters born after January 1, 1972 is from
6:00 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 26 and 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on
Saturday, June 28, 2014. There is no cost to students.

In order to receive certification, students must attend both sessions.
