Austin Brown’s complete game gem led the PCM baseball team to victory last night over Gladbrook-Reinbeck, 3 – 1. Coach Shawn Hudnut tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that Zach Uhlenhopp, Clay Cooper, and Brown all came up with clutch hits for the Mustangs in the win. The boys are now 11 – 10. PCM’s girls had an easy time with Saydel, snatching an 11 – 0 victory in just five frames. Rachel Freland was the victorious hurler, striking out three and allowing just a single base hit. Kayla Jennings was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI’s for the Mustangs, and Katie VandeWall hit a walk-off three-run home run to end it in the fifth. PCM is now 17 – 7 on the season and they will play a rare doubleheader at home tonight; a game with C-M-B at 5:30 p.m. with North Polk next at 7:30.
