A local non-profit has a new tool to help raise funds for their work. The Vermeer Charitable Foundation recently donated a frozen yogurt machine to the Mango Tree in Pella. They held a ribbon cutting at noon on Tuesday. Tricia Vermeer says that she’s experienced life in Haiti first hand, and her visit to the country helped inspire the donation. Tim Brand with Many Hands for Haiti says it’s donations like these that make their mission trips to Haiti possible. The Mango Tree opened in April of this year to help raise funds for Many Hands for Haiti. All proceeds from the frozen yogurt store benefit the non-profit.
