School is rapidly approaching, but there are still chances for kids and adults to learn about nature at Lake Red Rock.
At the Playscape on Wednesday, there’s a program aimed at educating people about prairies. Prairie land used to cover 30 million acres of Iowa land; now less than .1% percent of that remains. Learn about the plants and animals in that ecosystem at 10 a.m. After that program, kids will have an opportunity to make and take nature craft activities for Kids’ Craft Day from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday. As always, activities are free of charge and do not require preregistration.
