Those that pass through downtown Pella might notice changes in front of stores.

Last month, the Pella City Council passed an ordinance allowing businesses to place chairs and tables in front of their storefronts outdoors. Karen Eischen with the Chamber says that the purpose is to give the business district more of a European feel. Businesses will have to apply for a permit and adhere to regulations.
