Pleasantville is holding their 3rd Annual Back-To-School program. Diane Ellis says the programs offers quite a few items for students.
“Every child that attends will get a backpack with schools supplies. They will get a pick of their tennis shoes. There’s also gonna be a meal that’s provided by the Pleasantville Booster Club.”
Marion County Public will also be on hand with their I Smile program for dental screenings, offer immunizations to those who need them, and assist with anyone who needs to sign up for health insurance.
Ellis says the Community Foundation has been an iatrical part in the program’s success.
“The Community Foundation is the funder of this. They’re very helpful in giving the money to buy the supplies.”
The Salvation Army provides the backpacks for the event, while Soles For Souls offers the tennis shoes.
The Back-To-School program will take place today from 4pm to 7pm at Pleasantville Elementary.
