The biggest four days of sprint car racing has arrived as tonight starts the 54th Annual F-V-P Knoxville Nationals.Over 100 drivers will try to take home a six foot trophy, a check for $150,000 and knowing they are a part of history. First however, drivers have to qualify as the first two nights will help set the top 16 in Saturday championship race. Donny Schatz is the defending champion and has dominated victory lane winning seven of the last eight years, including roaring from the B-Main to get his seventh win last year. Other contenders that are running this year is Brian Brown…who won the 360 Nationals last week, and has finished runner-up to Schatz the last two years. Also, past champions who are entered are Danny Lasoski, Tim Shafer, and 12 time champion Steve Kinser, who will likely be a sentimental favorite. You can hear tonight’s action on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA with Live Track Side at five, followed by M-R-N’s Winged Nation at six, and Race Night’s Live at seven.
