Multiple Pella residents are participating and succeeding in competitions at the Iowa State Fair.

Iowa’s amateur beer makers brewed their best for the beer portion of the Amateur Oenology competition. Eric Vande Zande of Pella won in two categories: English Bitters and Belgian Strong & Weizen. Wilma Brouwer took first place for her towels in the Fabric and Threads contest. The champion of Miniature Horse Driving is Nathan Boldt.
