The Iowa State Patrol would like to remind young drivers with school permits about regulations and uses.

State Trooper Doug Cutts says that he’s noticed teen drivers violating rules of school permits. He reminds the drivers that permits are to be used from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. to travel from home to class and school sanctioned events and back. Cutts says that school staff can report violations to police, which can lead to the loss of the school permit. Holders of school permits are not allowed to go off their route to pick up passengers or go to part-time jobs.
