Members of area emergency response units gathered this week to develop emergency strategies for a major construction project.

Pella Ambulance, Pella Fire, Pella Police, and Marion County Emergency Management met with representatives of Missouri River Energy Services and Ames Construction to plan emergency strategies during the hydroelectric power plant construction project at Lake Red Rock. There was discussion about what emergency personnel can expect when they arrive to assist Ames Construction’s on-site first aid crews. They also scheduled additional training exercises later this fall. Representatives from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Army Corps of Engineers and the Iowa State Patrol were also in attendance.
