Officials at Pella Regional Health Center tell KNIA/KRLS News that a billing error impacting patients was discovered today.

The name and billing information of 11 Pella Regional Health Center patients was incorrectly included on a statement to one patient. It was determined that a number was incorrectly entered into the computer system when an individual checked into one of the clinics. Systems failed to identify the human error had happened.

Pella Regional Health Center staff say that they immediately reached out to all 11 patients involved by phone and with a follow-up letter. They add that Pella Regional’s Privacy Officer and senior administration will be reviewing how they can prevent this type of mistake from happening again, and apologize to all involved.
