Chuck Walter will be the honorary captain for Knoxville’s Homecoming Game against Saydel.

Walter represented the city of Knoxville on the football field and as a member of our armed forces. The Knoxville native who played in the first game at what is now Ken Locke Stadium 75 years ago also served his country in World War II as a bomber tailgunner.

Walter tells KNIA/KRLS News that he was shot down on his 25th mission and taken prisoner by the Germans for 11 weeks where at one point he was forced to march 150 miles over a 17 day period.
