The City of Pella has earned national recognition for their participation in the America in Bloom program.

Pella earned an overall four bloom rating out of five, and the outstanding achievement award for efforts in heritage preservation. Two judges made the trip to Pella in July and spent two days judging the city based on six categories: overall impression, environmental awareness, heritage preservation, urban forestry, landscaping, and floral displays. This was Pella’s first year participating in the program.
