A Des Moines man has been charged for assaulting his girlfriend in Hamilton.

29-year-old Todd Alan Kurth Sr was arrested following the incident at around 5:30 Thursday afternoon. According to court records, the victim told police Kurth grabbed her and threatened to kill her, then threw her down on the ground, impeding her breathing. Kurth also allegedly bit the victim’s face during the altercation.

Kurth is accused of domestic abuse with strangulation. He has a preliminary hearing set for Friday, October 17th.
