Area residents are invited to view the old-fashioned way of corn picking.

The Red Rock Thresher’s are holding their annual corn picking day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Arvin Van Wyk farm at 316 204th Place northeast of Pella. Antique corn pickers and shellers will pick corn and food vendors will be on hand for the event.

Directions from downtown: Go north on Main Street, turn right on 228th Place, go 1.9 miles, turn left on 240th Place, farm is 2 miles on the east side of the road. Contact Arvin with questions at 641-780-2774.
