Former district opponents meet tonight at Pella Christian, when the Eagles host Central Decatur in the first round of the Class 1A state football postseason. The Eagles wound up 6 – 3 on the regular season and second place in their district. Both schools were lumped into the same district the last two years; The Eagles won in 2013, 31 – 14, and then 35 – 14 in 2012. Pella Christian must find a way to stop quarterback Trenton Wells, who has a dual threat on the field; he’s rushed and passed for a combined 2,500 yards on the season.
