Rounding out our entire Marion County slate of teams making it to the State Football Playoffs, both Melcher-Dallas and Twin Cedars try to take a step towards “The Dome” this evening in Eight Man play. The Saints get to host the same team they downed 46 – 22 in Week One of the season, Colo-Nesco. Alex Mitchell threw for three touchdowns in the victory and Jacob Hoch ran in another three scores, while the Saints’ defense notched three fumble recoveries. Colo-NESCO ended up 5 – 4 in the regular season, and finished with a three-game losing streak. Twin Cedars was able to sneak into the playoffs, but get rewarded with a road trip to Gilbertville and number-one ranked Don Bosco, who just won 102 – 6 last Friday over Tri-County. There’s no mystery about what Don Bosco does to be successful; they run, and they run, and they run it some more. The Dons have ran for almost 3,000 yards this season, and average about nine yards per carry. Both Eight-Man football playoff games kick-off tonight at seven.
