With the holiday season approaching, area food shelves are looking for help from the community.

Director of the Food Shelf in Pella Melissa Zula says they have a few programs ramping up in November, including their annual Thanksgiving turkey boxes at area churches. She says they always have a need for food, but also personal hygiene items as well. Any donations for the Food Shelf can be dropped off at Peace Lutheran Church Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm and Friday 8:30 am to noon. The Pella Food Shelf is also partnering with KNIA/KRLS for our 13th annual food drive.
