Today marked the end of Daylight Saving Time for 2014.

Clock should have set back one hour as of 2am this morning.

Daylight Saving Time was extended beginning in 2007. Originally the first Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October, it’s changed to the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November. The change is made as part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005.

Area fire officials like citizens to use this time to check their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to make sure they’re working properly.
