Changes to a pair of ordinances were approved by the Knoxville City Council Monday.

Garage and yard sales will now only be permitted twice a year per household and for no longer than a five day span. This does not include the time period during the Knoxville Nationals were residents will still be permitted to hold garage and yard sales for the entire 10 day period.

The council also amended the sunset provision of the permitted fowl ordinance for another year, approved a reimbursement agreement between the city and Hormel Food Corporation for a sanitary manhole project along Godfrey Lane and East Main Street, and approved a change order for work on a digester cover at the Wastewater Treatment Facility, extending the time the contractor has to complete the project by 30 days.
