The 2014 and 2015 high school football schedules came out earlier this year. When fans, coaches, and players took a look at who they would be matched up with in their district, many dropped their jaw at some of the schools on the list. Iowa City Regina, a perennial power; Sigourney-Keota, who has given the Eagles fits as of late, and the list goes on. The team and the coaching staff, though, still were confident with the product they were going to put on the field in 2014, and it showed. Save for a close loss to the Savage Cobras and a loss to the Regals, Pella Christian went out and put together a 6 – 3 campaign and finished runners-up in the district. Coach Rich Kacmarynski says these were among the talking points he had with his seniors after their home playoff loss to Central Decatur. Pella Christian finished 6 – 4 on the year, and Coach Kacmarynski stresses how excited he is for the future, as many sophomores and juniors will be back next season.
