The youth of Pella had a unique opportunity to honor area military veterans on Tuesday. At Pella Christian High School’s chapel, veteran Rob Bandstra discussed the importance of serving, and some of his toughest moments as a commanding officer. He then, on behalf of other veterans, dedicated an American flag to Pella Christian High School. Students at Jefferson Intermediate School read the five freedoms of the first amendment to illustrate the impact that those who serve have had on protecting basic freedoms. Members of each branch were honored, and to close the assembly, the students performed a song.
