Thanksgiving can be a rough holiday for those trying to diet or who have Type Two Diabetes.

Knoxville Hospital and Clinics Dietitian Hannah Ostrander offers some tips for those who are trying to watch what they eat.

Ostrander recommends not skipping breakfast to prevent you from gorging on your Thanksgiving dinner. Check to see what’s offered before just taking food, this way you eat your favorites and don’t fill your plate in the process, which can lead to overeating.

Ostrander also recommends being somewhat active following your Thanksgiving dinner so you can work off the food you’ve eaten.
