Despite autumn’s last gasp, the City of Pella was transformed into a winter wonderland on Saturday.
Sinterklaas made his annual visit to Pella in more fall-like weather, and was featured in the traditional Sinterklaas parade downtown. He then ate breakfast with a group at Scholte Church.
Director of the Pella Opera House Kevin McQuade says there was great response to this year’s Festival of Trees, which acts as a fundraiser for children’s programs at the Opera House. He says more than 1500 people attended throughout the week long event. Many downtown businesses were offering deals and prizes as a part of Small Business Saturday.
