Smoke from a seized air compressor caused a fire alarm to go off at the main hangar of Knoxville Municipal Airport early Monday morning.
Knoxville Fire and Rescue and Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department were called to the location at 12:45am. According to Knoxville Fire Chief Jim Mitchell, a motor to an air compressor seized generating enough smoke to trigger the smoke detector in the mechanical room of the main hangar building.
Mitchell says there was no fire upon their arrival.
