Felony charges of drug possession and neglect have been filed against a Melcher-Dallas woman.

28-year-old Bridget Jackson has been charged with Neglect or Abandonment of a Dependent Person, a Class C Felony, a Controlled Substance Violation, a Class C Felony, and Possession of Marijuana, a Class D Felony.

According to court records, the Mid Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force issued a search warrant on Jackson’s residence and discovered over 8 grams of pot and 50 Oxycodone pills. Police also say syringes were found in the bedroom of her three children, ages 7, 6, and 4, creating a risk to their safety.

Jackson also has prior convictions for forgery and criminal mischief out of Jasper and Poweshiek Counties.

A preliminary hearing has been set for Friday, December 19th.
