There’s been a delay in the trial of a former Knoxville teacher accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old student.
34-year-old Troy Neil Rider was scheduled to go to trial on January 6th for two counts of Third Degree Sexual Abuse, Class C Felonies, and one count of Sexual Exploitation by a School Employee, a Class D felony.
A scheduling conflict has delayed the trial. An investigation by Knoxville Police earlier this year discovered Rider had a pattern of sexual conduct with the student between May 2013 and February 2014. He turned himself into police on March 7th.
A new trial date has not yet been set.
