Habitat for Humanity of Marion County has completed their final home dedication of 2014.

A ceremony for Paula Oellerich’s new home at Brook’s Circle was held this past Saturday. Paula and her family were welcomed into their new home by Habitat for Humanity of Marion County board members, staff, committee members, volunteers, supporters, and co-workers.

Ollerich says she’s been welcomed with open arms by her neighbors, and is ready to start her new life in her new home.

“I don’t know what to say, I’m just very honored and happy,” she say. “I’m just numb. I’ve never had anything like this happen, so they are feelings I’ve never felt before.”

Both the Project Manager at the home Jordan Downing and Director of HFHMC Lisa Crabbs say that the reaction on a homeowner’s face during a dedication is worth the investment of time itself.

“It’s a sense of accomplishment to have the home done, and it really does feel nice to see the homeowner, to see them happy, and to see how it’s changed their lives,” Downing says.

“It’s always heartwarming to see how many people are behind this and supporting the mission for Habitat and Paula,” Crabbs says.

The ceremony included the blessing of the home and the presentation of gifts, keys and a bible to Paula and her children.
