Those dreaming of a White Christmas in Marion County are likely getting a warm one instead.

According to the latest forecast, dry skies and highs in the low to mid 40s are expected throughout South Central Iowa on Thursday and Friday. Meteorologist Kenny Podrazik with the National Weather Service says the definition of a White Christmas is one where there is at least an inch of snow on the ground. Most areas of the state will stay dry through the end of this weekend, with highs expected in the 20s and 30s on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
