The Iowa Department of Education last week named Knoxville Community School District among the Teacher’s Leadership and Compensation Grant winners for the 2016-2017 school year.

While the funding comes a year later than hoped, Knoxville School Superintendent Cassi Murra says the benefits will help teachers and students alike. She says part of the funds from the grant will be used to hire instructional coaches in several key subject areas.

Murra says they will prepare now for when the grant money does arrive so it can be used to the best of their ability.
