Iowa continues to see an increase in flu activity.

Marion County Public Health’s Judi VanHulzen wants to remind people what to do to prevent catching the flu or other respiratory illnesses. She says people should wash their hands properly with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Also, if you do have the flu, stay home so that you don’t pass it along to others.

VanHulzen adds the best way to prevent contracting the flu is getting vaccinated.
