Two area students have been nominated by Iowa’s two U.S. Senators for consideration for appointments to the U.S. service academies.

Senators Chuck Grassley and Tom Harkin both nominated Jean Etnyre of Pella to the U.S. Air Force Academy. Joshua Bailey of Otley was also nominated by Senator Harkin to the U.S. Naval Academy. Once all nominations are made by U.S. congressmen, the academies will accept a select number for classes in 2015.
