Marion County is one of 18 Iowa counties that have confirmed Emerald Ash Borer infestations.

Iowa Department of Natural Resources Tivon Feeley believes the Emerald Ash Borer remains on the move in the state. He says by looking at a topographical map of the state, it can be seen how they can spread through the woodlands from county to county.

Feeley says a chemical treatment to help protect ash trees is available but it can only be applied in the spring and for a price.
